We are pleased to announce that as of March 26th, 2021, Lewis Bass International Engineering Services met all the requirements for, and was formally accepted as, an official member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, commonly referred to as WBENC.
A WBENC-Certified WBE is a business that has gone through a rigorous and stringent certification process to confirm the business is owned, managed, and controlled by a woman or women.

What is the The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)?
From their own FAQ page, the WBENC states that:
The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, commonly referred to as WBENC (pronounced WE-BANK), is the leading authority on and certifying organization for Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs) in the U.S. and U.S. territories. WBENC is headquartered in Washington, DC with 14 Regional Partner Organization (RPOs) throughout the U.S.
Each RPO processes certification applications on behalf of WBENC and adheres to stringent Standards and Procedures to maintain the integrity of the WBENC Certification program. Learn more about WBENC.
According to WBENC, their standard is the most relied-upon certification of women-owned businesses as a supplier diversity business program. This certification validates that a business is 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women.
What does membership in the WBENC offer our clients?
WBENC-Certified WBEs use their certification credentials to gain access to WBENC Corporate Members, as well as a number of federal, state, and local government agencies.

Additionally, tax liabilities are reduced for projects funded with federal or state grants or loans when the supplier is a woman-owned small business. At the state level, additional tax incentives may also be available.
